Pay the Checkoff

COVID-19 RESPONSE:  We know ranchers across the nation are experiencing challenging times and unprecedented market changes. The Beef Checkoff is designed to build demand for beef products, and TBC will continue to proactively and efficiently invest checkoff dollars to promote beef to consumers. In these uncertain times, TBC will continue to work towards this goal and continue checkoff collection and compliance. Our office will remain open with essential staff and all staff will be available via phone or email. For more details on our response and program execution please visit COVID-19 Response.

The Beef Checkoff programs are mandatory payments of $1-per-head to both the National Checkoff and the Texas State Checkoff every time cattle are sold within the state of Texas. The funds are used for beef promotion, marketing, research and consumer education for beef and beef products. The money can be used in Texas, the U.S. and/or internationally. The law does not allow checkoff funds to be used for lobbying activities to influence public policy or government affairs. The Texas State Checkoff is refundable.
